Hi Brad,
I saw you have an ecommerce site. When did you start it? How much products do you sell? What types of products? Only computers(sorry i didn't have enough time to closer look at it)? How's the profit?
I(with partner) am starting an ecommerce site too, although it will be a bit different than yours and dedicated to local market.

Re: ecommerce
06/04Thanks for your reply. Currently we sell over 1 million invidual computer products in both in Canada and USA. To be quite honest with you computers does not make you money. Specialized services like ebusiness is where the profits are at. In three years computer profits will be down to about 5% after all expenses. In my eyes that is not a profitable business model. We are looking for other merchandise to sell that will be in the 30 to 40% profit range for long term sustainability.
Following strong e-business fundamentals is extremely important to your success. Make sure you have execellent metrics of evaluation of site performance and strong e-marketings programs in place.
Good luck!

Re: ecommerce
06/08Well, here, in Lithuania, computers isn't very profitable business because of a big competition and war of prices between competitors. I know what you mean when talking about ebusiness. Actually, we are creating an ecommerce system where companies could sell their products. I call these types of systems "automated web businesses" or "ebusiness". USA market is full of various web services, however if you offer a good product/service and have strong marketing plan, you can beat the competition.
Could you explain what is "metrics of evaluation of site performance" ?
What newsletters do you read?

Metrics is a measurement of how your web site is performing. Many differents stats can be looked at such as:
-Unique vistors
-Country of visitors
-Page duration
-Site browse time
-Popular content
-Link referrals
-Search engine referrals.
-...more
It's the important data that every online store needs, and needs quickly.
